# What is Blockchain?

<mark style="color:yellow;">**Blockchain**</mark> is a distributed ledger technology that aims at decentralization as a security measure.

They are distributed and shared databases of records and data that have the function of creating a global index for all transactions that occur in a given market.

It is a kind of digital ledger, which proves all transaction actions involved and cannot be changed. Due to its high security, it has been increasingly accepted among people as a means of carrying out their transactions.
